Yoga for the Witch-Curious
Is there a part of you that feels a little magical? Does the word witch or witch-curious light something up inside? Are you drawn to witchy things like honoring the moon, herbalism, and the wheel of the year? Do you find yourself a little witch-curious but don't feel comfortable associating yourself with that word (yet)? If you felt a slight hesitation, but also curious after reading that, hello and welcome!
I've been witch-curious for over a decade, and I have come to figure out what the word witch means to me. A witch is intuitive, creative, magical, and a wild soul (or secretly longs to be); someone who is in tune with the world around her and fully in her own power. Being witch-curious is about rewilding a forgotten part of you, a sense of being connected to a greater whole. Mystical modalities, like astrology, tarot, crystals, and yes, yoga all have a common thread; they allow you to explore different aspects of yourself.
If you find that:
You love the idea of becoming witch-curious but you're a little worried about what your friends and family might think.
You scroll Instagram looking at all the witchy things, but then get overwhelmed at all the options, sigh and put your phone down because you have no idea where to start.
You walk into a new-age store and start to get excited, then realize you don’t know where to start. So either, you buy all the things and hope something sticks or you end up walking out of the store having bought nothing.
You’ve been finding yourself gravitating towards astrology and tarot as a way to get to know yourself.
You’ve been craving a space to explore your witch-side, to have a mentor or experienced friend take you by the hand and show you the basics so you’re not totally lost.
Maybe deep down, you finally feel like you want to step out of the broom closet. You've been wanting to find a community of like minded people (but just haven't found it yet). Like in the olden days, way back, when women were highly regarded as healers, seers, herbalists and mid-wives. They would gather in community to discuss what was going on day to day.
