Start with the Foundation: Where Growth Takes Shape 🦋

I’ve been thinking about foundations and how you can start building what you want to create.

Sounds a little bit like you're building a house right?

This would be your personal foundation, think of it like building blocks. The things that help support you and help you to come back to center when it gets stressful.

I love this time of year, I would say Fall is my favorite season. It welcomes change and the start of slowing down. One of my favorite days of the year is the Winter Solstice. It’s the shortest day and longest night in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s one of the days where I look to see what I want to bring in for the next year. You could say that this day is a cornerstone for my personal foundation.

We have a New Moon this week on 19 December. Typically a New Moon is a time to plant seeds of things you want to bring into the world and is a great time in the lunar cycle to start something. Mixed with the Winter Solstice on 21 December, this is a perfect time to start planting the seeds of what you want to call in next year. Think of this time as a good foundation to start planning, getting your building blocks in place.

So, I invite you to think about what you want to call in next year. Take these next few months to create the foundation that you want to build on. Remember houses don’t start from the roof down, they start from the ground up. It takes time to build what you want to bring into the world.

I invite you in the next coming weeks to take some time to reflect and brainstorm on what you want to bring into 2026. Think about your foundations. Figure out the things that will help you succeed. Finally, set up the building blocks that you can come back to in order to recenter and recalibrate amongst the chaos. This is a time to slow down and plan for what's ahead.

It’s the quiet work that supports growth.
